Kate Middleton Says Princess Charlotte Loves to Dance Just Like Princess Diana
Princess Charlotte is following in Princess Diana’s footsteps in the most adorable—and apropos—way.
While walking through the garden at Kensington Palace, the Duchess of Cambridge revealed that 2-year-old Charlotte “loves to dance” and is already taking lessons—a taste she seemingly acquired from Lady Di. According to the Mirror, Kate, Prince William, and Prince Harry spoke with English National Ballet artistic director Tamara Rojo about Princess Diana’s love of dancing while touring the garden. “She loved dancing; she was a fantastic dancer,” said Prince William. “We’ve been going through her music collection recently, and there’s some quite eclectic stuff in there. She was elated by the skill.”
The Duchess shared her daughter’s early penchant for dancing as well. “She absolutely loves it,” she said. William and Catherine were also invited to the English National Ballet’s My First Ballet program, according to Hello!, and the Duke accepted, saying, “We will definitely have to come.” What we wouldn’t do to see Charlotte in a tutu.
The royal family was touring the newly named White Garden at Kensington Palace, which has been replanted with all-white flowers in honor of Princess Diana on the twentieth anniversary of her death. In addition to the English National Ballet, Catherine, William, and Harry also met with representatives from Diana’s other favorite U.K. charities, including the National AIDS Trust, Great Ormond Street Hospital, the Leprosy Mission, the Landmine Survivors Network, and the homeless youth charity, Centrepoint, according to Hello!.
The Duchess of Cambridge has honored her late mother-in-law over the years by repeatedly wearing Princess Di’s favorite tiara, known as the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara, which was the Queen’s wedding gift to Diana. Catherine wore it for the first time since Princess Diana’s death in 2015.
